“The perpetrator has just been apprehended in Vodičkova Street thanks to the use of the city’s CCTV system. I thank the police for their excellent work,” said Prague Mayor Zdeněk Hřib. According to Novosti, the intervention took place in Palackého Street, which flows into Vodičkova Street.
Police have been searching intensively for the man since 11:00 a.m., when he was supposed to have shot a woman in her 50s at the labour office. The woman died in hospital three hours later. The man managed to buy a new shirt and a cap, which he changed into while fleeing.
Meanwhile, police launched a search, with a helicopter flying over Prague. As part of the search, detectives asked drivers who were passing through Belgrade Street at around 10:45 a.m. and who had dash cameras in their cars to provide them.
