On Thursday, the Czech Republic announced that it had temporarily closed its embassy in Kyiv. The consulate provides consular services for Czech citizens in Lviv. Russia attacked Ukraine on Thursday night.

“The Foreign Ministry calls on Czech citizens to leave Ukraine immediately,” the Ministry said.

The Ministry urges Czech citizens in Ukraine to exercise maximum caution. If they decide to stay, they should have an evacuation plan. They should also register with the DROZD travel system.

The Ministry has warned that in places of military conflict, it will have only “minimal possibilities to provide assistance and protection to Czech citizens on the territory of Ukraine.”

It also recalled that the airspace over Ukraine had been closed to civilian flights.
