The Czech Republic is expected to be hit by strong winds, meteorologists warn

Strong winds will hit the Czech Republic on Tuesday. While meteorologists expect gusts of current only in the country’s northern regions on Monday, it is expected to blow strongly practically all over the country the following day.

The warning of the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (ČHMÚ) is related to the passage of a cold front, which will move across our territory on Tuesday evening and the first half of the night on Wednesday.

The wind will start to pick up in the afternoon and reach speeds of around 70 kilometers per hour in gusts. The warning is valid from 4 p.m. to midnight on Tuesday. It applies to the whole territory except for the easternmost regions, namely the Moravian-Silesian region and parts of the Olomouc, Zlín, and South Moravian regions.

Until Wednesday morning, a warning against strong winds is currently in force in the Frýdlantský výběžek, the Moravian-Silesian Region, and parts of the Olomouc Region.
