A 33-year-old female driver and her 15-year-old passenger were the victims of Saturday’s tragic accident on the Slovak D2 motorway. The female driver, for unknown reasons, crashed into a truck on the side of the road and died on the spot together with her passenger.
Slovak police said on social media that the accident occurred at 8.30 a.m. between Lozorno and Malacky on the 41st kilometer of the D2 motorway in the direction of the border with the Czech Republic.
“The driver of the Nissan Micra, for reasons that have not yet been precisely determined, crashed into the back of a truck that was parked on the side of the road. The driver and her passenger succumbed to their injuries on the spot,” police said.
The motorway was closed at the scene, and a rescue helicopter landed on the scene, but doctors could not help.
