Coronavirus Update: 334 New Covid Cases on Saturday

The Czech Republic had 334 confirmed instances of coronavirus infection as of Saturday. The restrictions will be further eased starting on Monday.

On Saturday, paramedics provided 40,394 doses of covid vaccine, a new record high for the day, compared to around 6,800 fewer persons vaccinated a week earlier. Healthcare workers in the Czech Republic have provided nearly 4.627 million doses since vaccination began at the end of December.

Covid vaccine registration will be open from Monday for adults aged 35 to 39. People aged 30 to 34 will be able to apply for vaccination starting on Tuesday at midnight. Prime Minister Andrej Babis believes that starting in June, anyone who is interested in vaccination will be able to register.

The number of patients with covid-19 in hospitals has dropped below a thousand for the first time since the end of September. The Ministry of Health reported 866 people hospitalized with covid-19 on Saturday, down from 460 the previous Saturday. There are 162 persons who have been infected and are in critical condition in hospitals.
