From Friday to Monday, metro operations on line C between Muzeum and Pražského povstání stations will be suspended. The reason for the closure will be the replacement of sleepers. Alternative transport will be provided by buses.

The Prague Transport Company (DPP) will replace some of the original wooden sleepers with concrete ones. “In addition, the workers will replace the expansion device in the Nusel Bridge with a new type with a movable knee rail, including fixings and wooden sleepers,” said DPP spokeswoman Aneta Řehková.

According to the transport company, more than 41 percent of the sleepers on the C line will be replaced after the closure, i.e., 7,963 out of 19,361 pieces.

Replacement XC buses will run on the Pražského povstání, Vyšehrad, I. P. Pavlova, Muzeum and Hlavní nádraží routes. In addition, the operation of line 135 will be reinforced during the closure.

DPP plans another closure on the C line due to replacing sleepers from November 17 to 20. Further weekend closures on line C between Nádraží Holešovice and Hlavní nádraží stations will take place in May and the summer months due to the replacement of the ceiling slab above the vestibule of Florenc station.
