Someone shot at a bus in Prague

Policie ČR

On Sunday afternoon, an unknown assailant shot at a bus on Švehlova Street in Prague 10. A similar incident took place in the same street last month. That time, the perpetrator broke several windows of two trams and one bus.

“The dispatcher informed us of the transport company that a window of a public transport bus was damaged in Švehlova Street under the bridge at Jižní spojka. Police officers and constables went to the scene and searched the area. An air rifle shot probably caused the damage,” police spokesman Jan Rybanský said just before 4.30 pm on Sunday.

Last month, an unknown perpetrator shot out seven windows of two trams and one bus on the same street.

Even then, police believed it was an air rifle or a CO2 gun. Air guns belong to category D and are not subject to registration so that they can be owned and carried by anyone over the age of 18.

Police are investigating the case as damage to property and are looking for the shooter and any witnesses who saw anything suspicious. They can call 158.
