Vojtěch wants to implement compulsory vaccination from March

Health Minister Adam Vojtěch (ANO) proposes that selected groups should be vaccinated against coronavirus from 1 March 2022.

Compulsory vaccination should apply to people over 60 years of age, police officers, soldiers, and other armed forces, as well as firefighters and health and social care workers.

According to Vojtěch, compulsory vaccination is regulated by the Public Health Protection Act. The specific diseases against which vaccination is mandatory are regulated by decree.

The incoming government of the SPOLU and PirSTAN coalitions could still shake up the plan to introduce compulsory vaccination. Representatives of the incoming cabinet, including Health Minister-designate Vlastimil Válek (TOP 09), have previously rejected mandatory immunization, especially for age groups.

“It’s a decree of the Health Ministry. If the new government wants to abolish or change it, that’s up to them,” Vojtěch said.
