On Thursday morning, a truck struck a concrete bus stop in the Plzeň region, where a man was standing at the time. He sustained severe injuries in which he succumbed on the spot. The driver of the truck suffered moderate injuries.
The accident happened around 10 a.m. on road number 27 near the village of Chlumčany. The truck hit a concrete bus stop, which was destroyed.
“The driver of the truck, who was not paying attention to driving, drove outside the lane and collided with a person who was waiting at the bus stop. Despite their best efforts, rescuers were unable to save the man,” police spokeswoman Eva Červenková told. The driver’s breath test for alcohol or drugs was negative.
“Rescuers transported the man with severe injuries to the emergency room of the Plzeň University Hospital. Despite all our efforts, our doctor had to declare that the man, born in 1963, had died, “added Andrea Divišová, a spokeswoman for the rescuers.
